How to Make Your Blog Profitable

Why bother with a blog?

My answer to this question is always the same –

Your blog can be the prime driver, the engine house of your business.

If you do it right.

The next question is pretty predictable too – What do you mean “Do it right?”

The answer to that one is more complex. I need to ask a few questions so I know where the  person is coming from.

My business is to help you to drive profits with your business blog.

Why Are GOOD Web Writers Hard to Find?

You are THE expert in your field, but you are not an expert writer.

You need to find someone who knows as much as you do, someone who is as crazy about your subject as you are.

super writerYou need to find someone as good as you, but he must be a superb copy writer too.

And he must be willing to work with you.

And he must not charge you more than $25 per thousand words.

Good luck.

Finding an Impossibly Good Web Writer

You have five problems:

  1. Finding someone who knows as much as you do
  2. IF you find your expert he must also be able to write website copy like a champion
  3. He must be willing to work with you
  4. He must be willing to put his body and soul into writing for you for $25 per thousand words
  5. He must produce a 3,000 word masterpiece every single day

Even if you find your super-writer your business will then be totally dependent on one freelancer. Not a good idea.

Let’s look at those problems one by one. Continue reading “Why Are GOOD Web Writers Hard to Find?”

Would You Sell Your Soul for $20? Me Neither

A little piece of me goes into everything I do. I don’t sell fingers and toes for $20 each, so I am not selling parts of my soul for $20 each either!

I used to . . . I have written or sub-contracted thousands of $20 articles, but no more.

How Much Do I Charge Today?

Before I give a quote I want to talk to you. I don’t partner with random people I meet in the street, so the same logic applies online. I have to like you before I will work with you:

Teamwork – I work with people: I will never work for someone ever again

Subject – It has to be a subject that I find interesting

Link-Building – I never work for SEO companies that are just building links

Problem-Solving – I provide solutions to your problems

Trust – Everything you ask me to do will be done by me or by a trusted partner. I will never subcontract to cheap, off-shore freelancers. Continue reading “Would You Sell Your Soul for $20? Me Neither”

Rent a Blogger – Put Your Blog on Steroids

Good blog posts grab your readers and give them something they actually want to read, something that will help them. Sadly, many blog posts are utter drivel, designed to fill space on a screen and attract ads.

Anyone can buy a domain and type posts, but being a blogger is much more than having a blog with a few posts on it.

What is a Blog Post?

Blog posts are unique, well-written and interesting. They are written in a punchy style so that they grab the reader’s attention instantly. A good blogger may be contentious and even antagonise some readers with his confrontational style, it’s all part of the job; boring is the worst thing you can be.

Keyword Density – The Low Down

Are you confused regarding keyword density for search engines? Are you fed up with all the conflicting advice that everyone gives you?

Believe None of It

Keyword density is dead.

Writing for search engines is dead.

Search engines make their money by giving people who search something useful. Searchers are sick and tired of reading drivel that is stuffed with keywords. They want anything they find online to read well. Search engines like Google want to keep customers happy, so they have developed systems that check for the “naturalness” of every article and page online.
